About Y.A. Friend

Empowering others through the power of story.

Y.A. Friend—short for Your Anonymous Friend—is an author, advocate, and bridge-builder who believes stories can heal hearts and change the world. Writing under a pen name protects the privacy of those whose journeys she shares—troubled teens, families in poverty, and communities rising from oppression—while keeping the focus on hope, redemption, and renewal.

Her work began in the heart of a youth crisis center, where she discovered that behind every broken story was a longing to be seen and heard. From there, her calling expanded outward: to tell the truth with tenderness, to uncover beauty in the hard places, and to remind readers that compassion is not weakness—it’s power. Every book, poem, and project carries the same theme: we are more alike than we realize. Through storytelling, Y.A. Friend seeks to build bridges—between faith and action, despair and hope, nations and neighbors. Whether writing about American teenagers or families working in the brick kilns of Pakistan, her purpose remains constant: to connect hearts through the language of empathy.

Out of this passion grew two branches of impact

⦁ Bridge Light Press — a social-impact publishing house amplifying stories of faith, resilience, and justice.
⦁ The Bridge Between Us — a nonprofit empowering communities through entrepreneurship, education, and sustainable leadership.
Together, they form a global movement rooted in one truth: when we tell stories that matter, lives change.

“We are more alike than we realize once we cross the bridge to each other.”
